Hackett Celebrates Wind & Wuthering’s 40th Anniversary

2017 may find former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett busier than ever. With a new album scheduled for release and a 15 date UK Spring tour due there will also be the matter of Wind & Wuthering, the last studio album Hackett played on before leaving to go solo, reaching its 40th anniversary.

The tour will be Hackett’s first UK dates since performing at this year’s inaugural Stone Free Festival. “I’m excited to bring my latest show involving a new set of Genesis and Hackett numbers to the UK in 2017!” said Hackett who will be performing several tracks from Wind & Wuthering, alongside fan favourites such as ‘The Musical Box’ plus Genesis numbers such as ‘Inside & Out’ and ‘Anyway’ previously never performed before by Hackett and his band.

With an established solo career spanning over 40 years (his chart hitting album debut Voyage Of The Acolyte released two years prior to his leaving Genesis), he has released more than 30 solo albums, appeared on seven Genesis albums, formed the super group GTR with Steve Howe of Yes, and was Inducted into the Rock Hall Of Fame in 2010.

The legendary guitarist will naturally be performing his own popular hits on tour, as well as debuting new music from his forthcoming album scheduled for a Spring release, plus what is being promised as the first ever live performances of ‘Rise Again’ from his 1999 album Dark Town.

Hackett’s live band will comprise musicians Roger King (keyboards), Gary O’Toole (drums/percussion), Rob Townsend (saxes/flutes), Nad Sylvan (vocals), plus Nick Beggs returning to the fold on bass, stick & twelve string guitar.

Tickets go on sale Friday 7th October.
