Hawkwind, Friends & Relations…

Hawkwind, Friends & Relations Volume 6 will be released in August through Cherry Red Records.

The series goes back as far as the early 1980s, and has featured live recordings, studio material and associated projects exploring the wider Hawkwind universe.

Featuring material from Hawkwind alongside solo and side projects from members of the current line-up, Volume 6 in the series also expands outwards to include contributions from friends, collaborators and the band’s own crew collective T.O.S.H. (Technicians Of Spaceship Hawkwind), whose recordings feature guest appearances from Hawkwind musicians. The release presents a broad snapshot of the wider creative world surrounding the band, from space rock and psychedelia to experimental electronics and atmospheric instrumentals.

The release will coincide with the Hawkwind Friends & Relations weekend at Morecambe Winter Gardens, featuring live performances from Hawkwind and associated bands and projects connected to the band, with live dates scheduled for the band either side of the event.

On the vinyl edition of Hawkwind, Friends & Relations Volume 6, Side One features ‘We Fight For Glory’ by Hawkwind, ‘The Watcher’ by T.O.S.H., ‘The 10th Second Of Forever’ by Martin Krel and ‘Storm Brewing’ by Storm Brewing.

Side Two features ‘Billy Hilly’ by Dave Brock, ‘Salute’ by Thighpaulsandra, ‘Merry Go Round’ by The Stone Ryders and ‘Contemplation’ by Dave Brock.

Side Three features ‘Thought For The Day’ by Barkus, ‘Meeting Eve’ by Dave Brock, ‘Hiraeth’ by Storm Brewing and ‘The Co-Pilot’ by Hawkwind.

Side Four features ‘Aero Space Age Inferno’ by T.O.S.H., ‘Car B1’ by Dave & Richard and ‘The Angelica Declaration’ by Thighpaulsandra.
