Formed over 15 years for live dates but never previously committing to a record deal, Hookers & Blow, the band formed by Guns N’ Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed and Quiet Riot guitarist Alex Grossi, has now signed with the world’s fastest growing independent record label Golden Robot Records for a 2019 release.
Alongside Reed and Grossi, Hookers & Blow‘s line up now includes drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Danzig), bass player Robbie Crane (Black Star Riders) and vocalist Nadja Reed. Former members have included Todd Kerns (Slash), Chip Z’nuff (Enuff Z’ Nuff), Mike Dupke (WASP), Scott Griffin (LA Guns) and Don Jamieson of VH1’s That Metal Show.
“We have been asked for years about putting out an actual recording since we started this thing in 2003,” said Grossi “It never really made sense until now, as we have actually found the perfect record label in Golden Robot Records that actually gets ‘it’ as far as what Hookers & Blow is all about.”
Producer/engineer Alistair James who recently worked with Joe Perry and Johnny Depp on the latest Hollywood Vampires album is on board to work on Hookers & Blow’s debut album. More news as it arrives.
