Australian/Irish rockers Jailbirds return with a new lyric video to accompany their single, ‘The River‘, that you can check out here at RAMzine.
Following the band’s full-length debut, The Great Escape, back in 2019, the four-piece have been busy working on new material, that is said to be “bursting with their trademark, Thin Lizzy/AC/DC/Motörhead concoction.
‘The River’ is the first new music that Axel McDonald (Guitars/vocals), Ed Orr (Guitars/backing vocals, Cian O’Malley (Bass) and Jay McDonald (Drums) have released since the pandemic took hold in early 2020, and they are more than excited to finally bring some new Jailbirds to the stage once again.
Speaking of the new single, singer/guitarist and founding member, Axel McDonald said:
“Although the lyrics are metaphorical, on the surface the track touches upon letting go of hardships dealt within our past. It’s about the ability to learn and evolve without ever forgetting what has happened before in order to never repeat.
“‘The River’ being a metaphor for some sort of safe haven where that weight exists no more. The song also has a strong emphasis on the idea to always power through what comes at us, to keep moving on and keep moving forward no matter what.”
