Wisconsin rock guitar-gunslinger Jared James Nichols who made a strong live impression as support act on Glenn Hughes’s last UK tour and is currently touring Europe supporting Zakk Wylde is looking to put in some hard graft over in the UK this year. Ranging from an appearance at this year’s Stone Free Festival to his own headline tour through June to July and then supporting blues guitarist Walter Trout on his October outing, he might make it home in time for Christmas.
To coincide with all this activity, Listenable Records are releasing his Highwayman EP as an exclusive limited edition on 10 inch vinyl in orange (500 copies). Then on June 3rd there will be the digital release of his brand new single, ‘Don’t You Try’, alongside an official music video that pays homage to bikers from the 60s and the 70s. “We’re really excited about the brand new kick-ass single,” said the singer/guitarist. “I’m positive it’ll kick-start the shows into high gear.”
Co-written by Jared and producer/engineer Anthony Perry Jr., the single was recorded at Swing House & Unison Music Group Studios in LA, and will appear on his new album in spring 2017.
“The song’s about belief,” declared Jared James Jared. “It’s about what you’re told when you’re young and how it has an impression on you. How strong other people’s words can be. How there’s always something in the back of your mind, chasing you. At the end of the day, you have to believe in what you want.”
