From The Fade, the fourth album from the Joel Hoekstra’s 13 project, is out now on the Frontiers Music label. The Whitesnake, Accept and Trans Siberian Orchestra guitarist also has a new single from it entitled ‘All I’d Do‘.
“‘All I’d Do‘ is a song about past regrets and what you’d do differently if you could do it all over again,” said Hoekstra. “Vinny Appice and Tony Franklin provide a fantastic groove, while Girish Pradhan showcases his ability to successfully emote both the regret and frustration. Jeff Scott Soto provides the perfect backing vocals and Derek Sherinian showcases his strong sounds and ability to create hooky parts.”
From The Fade features 10 brand new tracks said to combine soaring melodies and thunderous riffs with high level musicianship. “The songs were built from the guitar riffs up,” the guitarist commented. “Most of the riffs were written during the time I was filling in with Accept, so there is a heavier edge to this album overall. The album still would be more accurately described as melodic hard rock, not straight up metal.”
He continued: “As always with the Joel Hoekstra’s 13 albums, I wrote the style of music that inspired me to pick up the guitar and tried to focus on songs for you to enjoy, not overly self indulgent guitar solos.”
Tracks featured on From The Fade are: ‘You Can Give‘, ‘The Fall‘, ‘Lifeline‘, ‘Will You Remember Me‘, ‘Misunderstood‘, ‘Start to Fight‘, ‘All I’d Do‘, ‘Free To Be‘, ‘The End Of Me‘ and ‘Quite The Ride‘. The album is available via Frontiers Records.
