There’s something quietly powerful happening in Nottingham right now. Described as “Portishead on steroids,” KEE. are a new alternative psychedelic electro project founded in 2025 and has dropped their debut single ‘Sound’.

The track opens slowly, drawing you in with layers of atmosphere that feel intimate. When the drums kick in, things lift, creating a pulse that grounds the ethereal vocals perfectly. Those vocals deserve special mention. They’re beautiful, atmospheric, carrying a weight of sadness that somehow feels hopeful, as if something significant is building.

Band members have had their music featured on BBC Introducing and have recorded at the legendary Maida Vale studio MV4, home of the John Peel Sessions. Their collective experience includes international touring and appearances at festivals like Dot to Dot, Kendal Calling, and Isle of Wight, plus shows at iconic venues like London’s 100 Club.

Making their live debut at Nottingham’s Waterfront Festival in 2025, KEE. are already building momentum. With upcoming shows booked at Rough Trade Nottingham and London’s King’s Cross Water Rats in 2026, they’re clearly a band with their sights set firmly forward.

If you’re someone who wants to support emerging artists at the ground level, here’s your chance. Head over to their YouTube and socials, give them views and comments, help them build. The name “Kee” represents strength, resilience, and a strong foundation. On the evidence of ‘Sound’, that foundation is solid indeed.

‘Sound’ is available now on Bandcamp.
