Lordi release new album ‘Sexorcism’

Eurovision song contest winners and Finnish horror rockers Lordi release their lastest album on 25th May and it’s going to be controversial. The band’s 9th studio album bears the name of Sexorcism and has been described as “An uncensored shot with a full on in-your-face attitude.”

If you were in any doubt about that here’s a list of the songs you can hear on the record:  ‘Sexorcism’, ‘Your Tongue’s Got The Cat’, ‘Romeo Ate Juliet’, ‘Naked In My Cellar’, ‘The Beast Is Yet To Cum’, ‘Polterchrist’, ‘SCG9: The Documented Phenomenon’, ‘Slashion Model Girls’, ‘Rimskin Assassin’, ‘Hell Has Room’, ‘Hot & Satanned’, ‘Sodomesticated Animal’ & ‘Haunting Season’.

Having heard the album it can be confirmed that these are indeed bonafide hard rock tunes with a melodic metal approach that makes them rather catchy tunes, so be careful as you might find yourself singing them out loud in the office first thing on a Monday, and some might not find that appropriate. Are there lyrics that would make Kiss’s Gene Simmons blush? Debatable. Put it this way, if you’ve a sense of humour and wonder what Steel Panther might sound like if they’d been bigger Alice Cooper fans this is for you.

Put together in 1992 by Mr. Lordi himself (The band’s lead singer, songwriter, visual art designer and costume maker) the band also features Messrs Amen (Guitars), Ox (bass), Mana (Drums) and Ms. Hella (Keyboards).

The success of their Euro-single ‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’ launched Lordi to new heights of media exposure, fan recognition and success, and opened new doors for the band. There have been Lordi postage stamps, Lordi candies and Lordi Cola, while in the founding father’s hometown of Rovaniemi they’ve even named the city’s centre’s market place as the Lordi Square.

Sexorcism was recorded and mixed at Finnvox studios by Mikko Karmila, and will be released through AFM Records.
