Following the recent release of her debut album Truth Is A Wolf and current single ‘Control’ Mollie Marriott will perform a rare headline concert at London’s Borderline on Thursday 1st June 2017.
The daughter of former Small Faces and Humble Pie vocalist/guitarist Steve Marriott and stepdaughter to original Brit rock ’n’ roller Joe Brown, audiences might not be used to seeing her step stage front but they’re more than likely to have seen and heard her supporting numerous others during her career as a backing vocalist.
Making her recording debut with Oasis, she’s also sang with Paul Weller, The Who, Mick Hucknall, Jeff Beck, Wilko Johnson, performed backing vocals on The Faces‘ 2015 reunion, with Joe Brown himself, and as part of live memorial concerts held for both Ronnie Lane and Steve Marriott. She’s even sang alongside Robert Plant, Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler and Imelda May to celebrate Bill Wyman’s 80th Birthday. We’re talking rock royalty.
Mollie Marriott has been likened to Sheryl Crow, Alannah Myles and Bonnie Raitt, those listening to her new album may find themselves thinking of someone closer to home in the form of a modern-edged Christine McVie. Hers is a sassy soulful blues voice emitted with the consummate relaxed feel of her late father’s.
Special guests at the Borderland concert are Pocket Dragon & Anna Krantz, with tickets available from the 24 hour box office (O8444 780 898) and www.thegigcartel.com.
