Robert Jon & The Wreck is back with their brand-new stand-alone single, ‘Point Of View’, available now on all digital platforms. Described as a “rollicking, groove-driven ode to the colourful characters encountered on the road, the song captures the band’s signature energy and humour with a distinctly vintage flair”. Self-produced and recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound in Hollywood, the track showcases a Stones-inspired vibe, complete with vibrant backing vocals from Laura Gruska and Rachel Mazer.
“‘Point Of View’ is a story inspired by those rare experiences where things get a little wild,” explained guitarist Henry James. “Every once in a while, someone gets a bit too comfortable, and while it can be challenging in the moment, it always makes for a great story later. Musically, the song came together naturally—a big, loose, yet tight ‘70s rock ’n’ roll jam that we’re all really proud of.”

As recent singles have demonstrated, Robert Jon & The Wreck is putting the latter part of their branded name to good use, turning their amps up to 11 and delivering us some rock – Hell, check out the video and you’ll see guitarist Henry James is playing up to his fascination with Richie Blackmore once more by smashing up a Strat, but the music itself is down-the-line rowdy 12 bars and true, slipping and sliding with hooks come the chorus with loud voices, sweeter voiced female accompaniment, and Robert Jon himself bellowing with razor-blade aplomb one minute to be followed by a mellower contemplative refrain. A live in concert singalong, me thinks.
The band’s new single comes on the heels of the release of the Red Moon Rising Deluxe Edition, out now on all digital platforms. Featuring the original tracks from their acclaimed 2024 album alongside two CD bonus tracks.
These Southern Californian rockers have taken to the UK as much as their fans have taken to them, not only are they about to tour the country with Eddie 9V as support, but they’ll be back in the new year too. For more information about Robert Jon & The Wreck at RAMzine click here.
