‘Under The Eye of The Sun’ is new video release from progmeister Steve Hackett, ahead of his 26th solo album At The Edge Of Light that will itself be released on 25th January 2019 through Inside Out Music.
Describing At The Edge Of Light Hackett remarked how: “The contrast between dark and light weaves its way throughout the album in many ways, from the sense of good fighting evil through to the interplay of dark and light opposites magically combining in cultures.” This is readily apparent in the video that you can see right here at RAMzine.
Warm upbeat sounds fill out of your speakers unexpectedly during this wintry season as beautiful desert footage revealing itself within the video. The landscape is vast and varied in its natural architecture with intermittent almost alien greenery, and that’s just looking at Hackett going about his travels in some Arabian desert. When the scenes visit deep within actual caves and then looks up, it makes you consider that the devil not only has the best songs, he may also have the best view.
Musically, from the high-ended harmony vocals to the power-churning bass you’d be forgiven for thinking you were listening to some lost Yes classic save for that distinctive anthemic guitar twisting its way throughout. If the rest of At The Edge Of Light sounds like ‘Under The Eye of The Sun’ then Steve Hackett fans are in for a treat.
