After a long break, the We Butter The Bread With Butter duo is going back to its roots. The German duo has a new single out in ‘N!ce’, and an album, Das Album, is due for release on 24th September through AFM Records.
Formed in 2007, by Marcel Neumann and Tobias Schultka, as a deathcore band with heavy use of electronics. Initially intended as a joke, they progressed into being a more serious musical duo.
Das Album has been described as a “smoothie for your ears”, and sees Schultka’s having left back in 2010. Their fifth studio album, it has further been described as most likely their heaviest, with m Mixing and mastering undertaken by Christoph Wieczorek.
Songs like ‘Meine Finger Sind Su Klein’, ‘Läuft’ or ‘20 km/h’ (their previous single) may be self-evident in their translation. Schultka, a big football fan, said: “It’s like these three songs would be whipping a perfect cross in the middle and then ‘Schreibwarenfachverkäufer’ is heading the ball into the goal.” Neumann added, quippingly: “If there wasn’t offside”.
Emo-haircuts have apparently had to give way to receding hairlines and daytime-recordings in the children’s rooms became night sessions after work, but We Butter The Bread With Butter is back, and you can check out the videos for two recent singles right here at RAMzine.
