It has taken me an absolute age to try and get the umlauts in the right place, as studying a bit of Danish, as well as a lot of German, I know that without the umlaut the words can mean something entirely different to what they are meant to be, and thanks to the aid of Google Translate finally I think I have cracked at least a little of this strange but wonderful Swedish language for everyone to enjoy, although the tracks are sung in their native tongue, it should however, be a little easier to fathom what each track is about, despite the no clean singing. Anyway, enough of this talk of umlauts and let’s get on with the music…
Hard to forget something as powerful as this no matter how hard you try. Even your worst nightmare couldn’t produce something so a nihilistic, even if it wanted to! This is the solo project of one man Jonny Petterson, who in Sweden probably has the Country on its knees for fear of being struck down by his mighty tongue and sharp pronged strings. Blending genres and making a pretty good job of it I may add, he doesn’t produce acid rain but huge slabs of propelling concrete that he can magnificently manipulate hitting you squarely between the eyes while you try to withstand the force this man throws at you from the tips of his fast moving fingers.
Listening to the creative powerhouse of bump and grind will drive you stir crazy in the best possible way, basking in its rowdy presence and tenacious raw aggression is just right for blowing away a few cobwebs! The tracks are always short-lived but as I have mentioned before – to keep up this intensity at such a pace, must really drain the energy quicker than water going down a plug-hole!
Its compelling complexities shine amid toxic gargling expertise and the odd strange melodies of a rasping guitar and bludgeoning blast kicks. It is highly moreish and just keeps on giving, rewarding with huge and insistent raw immensity that stretches the already bulging boundaries.
I can sum up in two words, what this album is to me, and that is “Grymt bra” and no I am not being rude – just look it up and you will find out! After all, all the hard work has been done, now shut up and go listen!
