You may well be, but certainly not to your full rock and metal potential. MetalDays is the festival of festivals, it’s a week long, it’s Monday to Friday of music, it’s five headliners and hundreds of bands.
And well, just look at it….
This years event will see ‘The Pale Emperor’ himself, Marilyn Manson headline the first night, followed by viking metallers Amon Amarth on the Tuesday, Doro on Wednesday, Opeth on Thursday and Heaven Shall Burn headlining the festival Friday night.
MetalDays is prominently a metal festival, however does boast a vast variety of genres. This year’s line-up also includes the likes of Blues Pills and The Great Discord. The metal bands on offer go through the ages, with a vast amount of bands from all eras. This year seems set up to be a showcase of new and old. Especially the new, with help from the addition of the Newforces Stage.
We caught up with one such band playing the Newforces Stage on the Wednesday. Greybeards told us; “We are really exited to play a big festival again. As a rock band, playing at a metal festival is a great challenge and we’re more than up for it. Hopefully we will stand out from the rest this time. Cause we’ll be the one white sheep among all the black, haha!”
We are sure they will be just fine with the diversity on offer this year. We also caught up with The Crawling who will be flying over from Northern Ireland to unleash their doom over our metal paradise.
They told us; “We are beyond excited about playing MetalDays! We have played a few large festivals so far, and it is just the most enjoyable experience a band can get, so to travel even further afield and do it again is fantastic. Slovenia is a magnificent country, and the setting for the festival is just serene – I can’t wait to look out from the stage across the beautiful scenery. Not mention we share the stage with Venom Inc and Batushka!” You can catch them on the BOŠKO BURSAĆ Stage on Monday at 16:15.
