MOVEMENTS talk Songwriting “Imposter Syndrome” | Slam Dunk Festival

RAMzine caught up with Patrick Miranda of post hardcore band Movements at slam Dunk Festival 2025. Miranda gets real on lyrical honesty, imposter syndrome, and… robots?

Miranda tells us the deeply personal and vulnerable nature of their songwriting. He admits to the internal struggle of deciding how much to reveal, aiming to make fans feel “heard, seen, and understood” even when it’s difficult. This honesty, he believes, is what their audience seeks, pushing him to put insecurities aside for the sake of connection.

Patrick reflects on Movements’ journey, expressing surprise at their level of success and touching on feelings of “imposter syndrome,” especially after milestones like their largest headliner show in Los Angeles.

Movements will be spending the next six months writing a new record, with hopes to release it early next year.
