Aynsley Lister announces details for new album ‘Eyes Wide Open’

Seven studio albums, three live albums, in, award-winning blues rock guitarist Aynsley Lister goes in Eyes Wide Open for his latest record, released on Friday 7th October through Straight Talkin’ Records.

Three years down the road since his last studio album Home resulted in Lister receiving British Blues Awards for both Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year, Eyes Wide Open has been described as “a bold, confident and accessible slice of contemporary blues rock” wherein the genre-bending British guitarist returns to more traditional roots.

“I wanted to keep the raw edginess and energy of a band,” said Lister. “So that meant minimal takes and going with the ones that had the most spirit and passion over those with technical perfection. To me, music isn’t supposed to be perfect. It’s supposed to grab you and move you both emotionally and physically; it’s supposed to connect with you.”

Songs featured on Eyes Wide Open are   All Of Your Love’, ‘Everything I Have To Give’,  Il Grande Mafioso’, Won’t Be Taken Down’, Time’, ‘Dishevelled’,  Troubled Soul (Intro)’, ‘Kalina’, ‘Handful of Doubt’, Right As Rain’,  Other Part Of Me’,  Stay’, plus the bonus track Hold You To It’.

A video for the effervescent opening track All Of Your Love’ featuring a suitably shape-scraping solo has just been released and you can view it here:

With a UK and European tour kicking off in September prior to the release of Eyes Wide Open, fans can expect tracks to be premiered live. For a full list of gig dates visit Aynsley Lister’s website.
