The UK’s Barshasketh and Poland’s Outre have got together to release the split EP album Sein/Zeit that will be out 27th November through Third Eye Temple and Blut &E isen Productions.
The album was inspired by Martin Heidegger’s philosophical work Sein & Zeit, that translates as “Being & Time”, published in 1927. The book explores fundamental questions seeking to underpin our understanding of human existence, with each band taking one of the two main themes.
For Sein, Barshasketh seek to express the concerns creating one’s own purpose in a world without any objective truth or meaning; pushing further inward to discover true will, by sacrificing solace and unnecessary comforts along the way. The intention behind this that true will and purpose will be discovered. Whereas for Zeit, Oute express the belief that past, present and future are all one; existing in one consolidated frame wherein our Being is expressed through the time that flows through us. Thus no one or shall be; we are temporary.
Barshasketh was formed in 2007 as a solo-project by Krigeist with the intention of creating pure black metal, intentionally free of genre cross-pollination: second-wave blasphemy re-imagined and reinterpreted through extensive use of layering and counterpoint. Following two well-received demos via Wolfsvuur Records, debut album Defying the Bonds of Cosmic Thralldom was released in 2010, adding GM (guitars and vocals) and BH (drums) for 2013’s follow-up Sitra Achra through Todestrieb Records. After recruiting bassist BB the band then recorded two split EPs and third album Ophidian Henosis that was released in 2015 through Blut & Eisen Productions and W.T.C Productions. Since then a further acronym-style’s individual, MK, has replaced BH on drums for this recent release.
Outre’s stock trade is European black metal. Their debut album was Ghost Chants and after two years they return with their appearance on Sein & Zeit. The band featuring Damian Igielski and Krzysztof Sojda (Guitars), Marcin L.th Radecki (Bass), Maciej Pelczar (Drums) with vocals arranged and performed by TMK will also be trekking across Europe this November, touring with Ulcerate.
Tracks featured on Sein/Zeit are: ‘Being’ [7:45] by Barshasketh, ‘Time’ [5:38] and ‘Only True Believers’ (an Armaggedda cover) [3:31] by Outre. Artwork was created by Mentalporn and the album is available for pre-order through Third Eye Temple in three colour variations: white (labels’ exclusive), marble white/black and regular black version.
