Described as both “Poland’s most hated and loved band” while being a group of immigrants from Australia, Gruzja, their latest album Koniec Wakacji (Translated as “The End of Holidays”) is now about to get the vinyl treatment.
The long players will be released on heavyweight 180g vinyl in two electrifying colour variations. Each vinyl edition will come accompanied by a stunning 16-page booklet designed by Zbigniew Bielak, offering a deeper dive into the world of Koniec Wakacji.
Koniec Wakacji vinyl editions can be ordered here and will be shipped from 30th April.
Synth-electronic track ‘Moda Nienawiści’, that translates as “Fashion of Hate”, is the band’s latest single that’s taken from the original album, and there’s also an accompanying new video with game-like features that you can check out here at RAMzine.
“It is a testimony of broad horizons, high social sensitivity and political vigilance,” said the band. “The music video tells the story of Charlie, who ended up in the wrong factory. The painting was created by Wojda and Olejarczyk. Attention! Full of easter eggs!”
Gruzja consists of artists, instrumentalists and vocalists from bands such as , Odraza, Biesy, THAW, Mentor, Licho, and Wędrowcy~Tułacze~Zbiegi, their music drawing on the folklore of Sudan and Sosnowiec.
Koniec Wakacji can be compared to a history book and a daily news bulletin – it doesn’t offer anything new. It’s a collection of fragments. Fresh and cold, strange and personal. It’s charades in a trench, and a trench in a smartphone. Faces tuned and disarmed. Everything fake and not pretended.
Guests on Koniec Wakacj album include LARMO, Mold, Perturbator and several anonymous individuals. Satanic Audio was responsible for mixing and mastering, while the material was recorded at MAQ Records and in The Basement. The band self-released the album.
Gruzja is hitting the road with fellow Polish sonic explorers Jad & Wielki Mrok for a special May Euro-tour.
The CD version can be ordered here and digitally via Bandcamp.com.
