UK indy rock act Hurricane plan to sweep across the world in 2021 with new singles and album releases, following the announcement of a worldwide record deal With Golden Robot Records
With two top 20 albums and seven top 40 UK and worldwide hits singles under their belt, over 1 million albums sold and extensive world, UK and European tours behind them, the band first got together in Oxford back in 1996.
Originally featuring former Ride guitarist Andy Bell, singer/guitarist Alex Lowe, bassist Will Pepper and drummer Gareth Farmer they first signed with Creation Records (home of Oasis, Primal Scream, Jesus And Mary Chain etc).
On splitting Bell joined Gay Dad and Lowe went solo, reforming in 2014 and releasing their third album, but thereafter the line-up has undergone changes, but with Lowe remaining in the driving seat when they released their next album.
“It’s an absolute pleasure to be signed with one of the best and biggest independent growing labels in the world its exactly the type of label we needed for Hurricane #1,” said Lowe. “The great thing is that GRR are not scared to take chances unlike other labels that are so absorbed in their own hype that most of them don’t really care or look after their bands.
“Hurricane has so much material for GRR that they could never ever run out of releases. In these darkened times of not knowing GRR and Hurricane #1 together will make the world of music a far better place A storm is brewing!’’
The plan shows worldwide the pandemic permitting, and their new material has been described as having hard-edged guitar sound, with catchy melodic choruses.
