Japan-based solo artist martyrvain has released ‘Vanilla Sky’, a dark, emotionally raw single that came out on 16 October.
Working across dark alternative, nu-gaze and alternative metal, martyrvain pairs intense vocals with heavy guitars and dark atmospheric textures. The song explores loss, regret and the longing to see someone again, even if only in dreams. Fans of Bad Omens‘ ‘Just Pretend’, Jutes and 20tokens will find plenty to connect with.
It’s a true solo effort: martyrvain handled the songwriting, vocals, recording, arrangement and production, and made the music video too. The track has already entered rotation on Amazing Radio’s Amazing Rock & Metal stream.
‘Vanilla Sky’ is out now.
