Juliet’s Not Dead: New Single Live Dates & Album Release Confirmed

Juliet’s Not Dead forthcoming album This World Is Ours will be released on 7th February, 2025. Ahead of that, the opening track on the album, ‘Sinner Or Saint’ is rammed full with driving guitars and out now as their latest single.

Vocalist/guitarist Stevie Stoker said of the song: “Musically, ‘Sinner Or Saint’ is a high paced, powerful rock song with lots of layers. It then includes a total change of feel in the mid-section before returning to its flat out approach until the end.

“The song is a tale of someone questioning their own mortality asking ‘Do you trust me?’ and praying to a greater being for help during this difficult time. It’s a situation I think many of us can relate to.

“However the song does have a total change of pace in the middle, when a realisation sets in and that person starts to see that no matter how bad it is, they can get through it, even in the throes of mission critical. We simply had to have this song open the album because ‘Am I a sinner or saint?’, is a question we often ask ourselves. Are we good? Are we bad? What is it that makes us who we are?”

Regarding the album, Stoker commented: “I love this album, not only do I think it’s the best music we’ve ever written, but it was also the most enjoyable writing and recording process I’ve ever been a part of. Jack and I wrote for most of 2023. We were even recording demos while on tour around Europe. From the get go we knew what we wanted to say with this collection of songs. As a band you come up against so many challenges and we wanted this album to reflect all of the emotions, difficult decisions, and strong bonds we’ve made over the last couple of years.”

Alongside Stoker, Juliet’s Not Dead – featuring the aforementioned Jack (Corbett, on drums and vocals), alongside Dan King on guitar and vocals and Niall Whittaker bass and vocals.

“Getting the songs ready to record for the final time is always my favourite part of the process but also one of the most tricky. We demo them fully so every layer and part is where it should be and critique and change bits until we are happy with it. However it’s sometimes difficult to know when you’re done. Thankfully we had the right production team behind it. Approaching it with a clear view of what we wanted the final result to be. Romesh (Dodangoda) and the boys at Longwave made our job easy and we literally smiled and laughed our way through it. We hope anyone who hears it will hear the joy behind the music no matter the subject.”

Since the release tour for single ‘Don’t Play Nice’ in April 2022, Juliet’s Not Dead has been crushing live performances with a unique visual show built into a wall of Marshall cabs. After raising over £6,000 for music charities during the pandemic the boys took crowds by storm on two self-promoted UK headline tours in 2022.

With single ‘Secrets’ getting to #1 in the iTunes rock charts as well as being track of the week on Planet Rock and also had significant air time on BBC, following similar success with previous releases, their stock is rising rapidly. As well as two UK support tours and countless festivals, 2023 saw the band tour all over Europe and play in a total of 11 countries, and they can’t wait for what is to come next.

This World Is Ours can be ordered here and they will be taking in live dates following its release.

JULIET’S NOT DEAD UK DATES 2025

Friday 7th Feb – Independent, Sunderland

Saturday 8th Feb – HMV – Newcastle

Sunday 9th Feb – Waterloo, Blackpool

The band’s last single was out last November, and Stoker said: “’Battle Scarred’ is so powerful, not just in sound but in its meaning. Many of us have had moments where we have suffered from depression. A couple of years ago I was in a really dark place and I had to rely on the people around me to pull me through. I have to say without them I’m not sure where I’d be.

‘Battle Scarred’ actually started out as three different song ideas that we reworked in our pre-production process and it didn’t fully come to life until we got into the studio with our producer (Romesh Dodangoda). I remember  playing with lyric lines and that’s when it came to me that this was basically a conversation I’ve had with myself many times. The uncontrollable back and forth of a troubled mind is evident in these lyrics, and it almost feels like it’s about to explode. For me putting this down on paper was in a way a kind of therapy and I’m so pleased that we can now share it with everyone. It means so much to me.

“We talk a lot nowadays about mental health and about ways of coping, which is great, however, I still feel like men in particular keep things bottled up, often until its too late. Which is why we are using this song to shine a light on two amazing organisations that are helping people who need support. Durham Mental Health Alliance, which is local to us and Samaritans, on a wider national level. Even our very own Niall Whittaker is climbing Kilimanjaro in December to help raise money for Samaritans.”

The song is accompanied by a video that visually pulls together some of the themes. It stars British actor, Darren Morfitt, who is a friend of the band. His CV is mad and includes Dr Who, Coronation Street & Dog Soldiers.

“We were honoured when he accepted our invitation to feature in the video. Darren plays a character facing his own internal struggles and you see him collapse and then explode and he battles with his demons. It’s powerful stuff and we hope that it resonates with people.”

Previously, they released the rocking ‘King And Queen’ about which Stoker said, “What I love about ‘King & Queen’ musically is just how relentless it is. It just starts and is full on until the end. It’s a million miles an hour. Even when we were demoing it, you could feel how it would sound finished. It has this infectious energy about it that really reflects us as a band.

“Musically its a feel good song but it also has a message behind it, that you should surround yourself with people who make you a better person but also accept you at your worst. We can’t all be 100% all the time. We will have our wild moments, our down moments we need the people around us to accept that and roll with it. Sometimes they will add to the madness, and sometimes they will be the calm we were looking for.”

Juliet’s Not Dead, previously went out under the name Twister but changed it when they brought out the high energy rocker ‘Thrillseekers‘. That was followed by ‘Open Fire’ and an album This World Is Ours will be released early in 2025.

Vocalist/guitarist Stevie Stoker said of their last single: “‘Open Fire’ follows on from where we have been. I really love this song.” You can order the single here and check out the video here at RAMzine.

Regarding the name change Stoker commented, “This is probably the biggest decision we’ve ever made as a band, having gone under the Twister banner for so long. But following the completion of our new album with Romesh (Dodangoda, as producer) it just felt time to evolve, to kick it up, to create a brand that better represents our sound. It was hard to take the plunge but now it’s done it feels great. We love our new name and I now need another tattoo!”

The band also heads out on a UK tour this winter under their new moniker, that will see them include their first new music since their 2022 EP Only The Strong Survive.

He added, “We will still be playing Twister songs, they are now just Juliet’s Not Dead songs and when coupled with the new material folks will see that growth and natural progression. These are exciting times for us, not that we were jaded or treading water but the new material sounds fresh and takes us to another level. Now we get to show our fans and hopefully gain some new ones too. We’ve spent so long perfecting this show and now we absolutely can’t wait to get out there and play for everyone.

Thrillseekers‘ can also be ordered here and you can check out the video here at RAMzine.
