Wanted Dead or Alive… Thundermother!

Two years on from the release of their last offering Black & Gold, the Swedish rock quartet Thundermother is currently gearing up for their much-awaited, forthcoming studio album, Dirty & Divine, due out on 7th February 2025 via AFM Records.

Following a series of previously-released tracks, heavy rockers ‘Speaking Of The Devil’, ‘I Left My License in the Future’ as well as the catchy album opening track ‘So Close’, Thundermother unleash what’s been described as “a spine-chilling music video” for their latest single, the anthemic rock juggernaut Dead or Alive’.

The band commented on the release: With ‘Dead Or Alive’ we’re exploring the feeling of emptiness that sometimes come after a warm summer and into the fall. We’re asking the question of “what do I do with my life, now that the darkness is upon me for eight months?”. We’re don’t have any answers, but we hope that our fans can connect with that feeling and that Dead or Alive can be a song for those who is asking that same question.”

Committed to the electrifying euphoria of real, organic rock ‘n’ roll. Over the course of 15 years and five widely acclaimed studio albums, Thundermother have firmly established themselves as one of the most vivacious and vital hard rock bands around.A blistering onslaught of loud, proud and groovy hard rock, their upcoming studio offering Dirty & Divine marks the start of a new era for Thundermother and the recorded debut of two new members: frontwomanLinnea Vikström Egg and drummerJoan Massing. Dirty & Divine also welcomes back bassist Majsan Lindberg to the fold. The Swedes return remotivated, the sixth Thundermother album is said to crackles and fizzle with “gritty authenticity and unstoppable passion”.

A decision to record the new material live in the studio has reaped its own rewards. Dirty & Divine is the sound of a kickass rock ‘n’ roll band doing it for real, and loving every raucous second.

“You’ve still got the same Thundermother feeling, with my guitar playing and all of that,” Filippa Nässil recently said. “It’s still got a ‘70s vibe, but the melodies are catchier and the vocals are obviously different. We never stand still. I think this is the best album we’ve made so far, and I’m very picky! [Laughs] We recorded it in Copenhagen, with Soren Andersen producing again, and we recorded eight songs in four days. So, this was the quickest recording we’ve ever done, and the best outcome!“

Tracks featured on the new album are ‘So Close’, ‘Can’t Put Out The Fire’, ‘Speaking Of The Devil’, ‘Feeling Alright’, ‘Take The Power’, ‘I Left My License In The Future’, ’Dead Or Alive’, ‘Can You Feel It’, ‘ Bright Eyes’ and ‘American Adrenaline’.
