In The Vanishing Echoes Of Goodbye with Labyrinth

Italian metal act Labyrinth’s new album, In The Vanishing Echoes Of Goodbye, will be released on 24th January, via Frontiers Music Srl.

Discussing the album, Labyrinth said: “In the Vanishing Echoes Of Goodbye is our latest work. As the years go by, we feel increasingly free from formulas and stylistic boundaries that sometimes trap a band within a specific musical genre. With this album, we set out to achieve total freedom, allowing each of us to fully express ourselves.

“Perhaps for this reason, combined with the reality of living in increasingly dark times, this work has become our heaviest, fastest, and angriest album to date, while still making it to keep our typical melodic/melancholic touch. We are very proud of it, and today, that’s what Labyrinth are.”

Considered one of the leaders of the entire New Wave Of Italian Power Metal, Labyrinth formed in the early 90s, debuting with 1998’s album Return To Heaven Denied, considered a milestone for the genre. It caught the European scene’s attention, gaining success and helping build their career. Together with acts like Rhapsody Of Fire, Lacuna Coil, they helped the entire Italian heavy metal scene to reach the next level globally.

Over the years the band went through difficult times and several lineup changes, taking a break from 2010 to 2017 and, in the spring of 2016, the band’s founding members Andrea Cantarelli and Olaf Thorsen received a call from Frontiers, asking them to discuss with singer Roberto Tiranti the possibility of a comeback for the band.

In The Vanishing Echoes Of Goodbye is now their third album for the label, and the music is heavier than in the past but keeps a speedy power metal attitude with epic prog infused metal songs present for good measure.

Starting with the opener ‘Welcome Twilight’, with epic Latin choruses, through to songs like ‘Out Of Place and “The Right Side Of This World’ where the band’s trademark sounds are present.

Alongside the original members, Oleg Smirnoff plays piano and keyboards), Nik Mazzucconi plays bass and Mattia Peruzzi is on drums.

Tracks featured on In The Vanishing Echoes Of Goodbye are: ‘Welcome Twilight’, ‘Accept The Changes’, ‘Out Of Place’, ‘At The Rainbow’s End’, ‘The Right Side Of This World’, ‘The Healing’, ‘Heading For Nowhere’, ‘Mass Distraction’, ‘To The Son I Never Had’ and ‘Inhuman Race’.
