Alt-rockers 10 Years will return to the UK as guests of the Kris Barras Band on their forthcoming October tour.
Last here in 2022 with Three Days Grace, they will be touching down in the UK following a European tour with Black Stone Cherry. The band said, “We couldn’t be more excited to come back to Europe and the UK this fall. The fans over there are genuinely amazing and it’s an honour to be able to share the stage with some great bands and I hope their fans enjoy what we do.”
Alas, for the Kris Barras Band themselves, it looks like they’ll be going out in a blaze of glory, with Kris Barras himself announcing on social media: “After a huge amount of thought, I’ve decided that this next KBB tour will be my last and I’ll be stepping away from music for the foreseeable future.”
Age and seeking financial security are mentioned as factors leading to his decision, one that didn’t appear likely this time last year with him also performing with Hollow Souls. Hopefully, a complete line isn’t being drawn under Barras‘ musical career, and the tour itself will go out with a bang.
10 Years themselves have been going for over 25 years, achieving over 1.7 billion combined streams across nine studio albums, their most recent releases being 2024’s Inner Darkness EP and the single ‘No Light, No Light’, a Florence + The Machine cover.
Forming in 1999, Jesse Hasek (lead vocals), Brian Vodinh (guitar, backing vocals), Matt Wantland (guitar) and Chad Grennor (bass) issued their most recent full-length studio album, Violent Allies, in 2020 with Grammy Award-winning producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Halestorm, Papa Roach), and it has surpassed 88 million streams to date.
10 Years celebrated the 20th anniversary of their gold-selling 2005 breakthrough The Autumn Effect last year with a nationwide US tour. They have had three Top 30 entries on the Billboard 200, the most recent being 2017’s reunion release (How To Live) As Ghosts, with its hit single ‘Novacaine’ climbing into the Top 5 on the Billboard US Mainstream Rock Songs chart.
