Polish black metal act Kalt Vindur are ‘Lost in Infinity‘ on the latest single from their upcoming fourth full-length album, The Void of Time, set for release on 27th November via The Circle Music.
It’s the second single from the record, showing a darker, more relentless side of Kalt Vindur‘s evolving sound. Guitarist Svart commented: “Whereas the title track opened our doors to a new progressive world, ‘Lost In Infinity’ shows the true fire that lies at the heart of Kalt Vindur.” The band’s founder continued: “It is unrelenting, dark, and extremely hypnotic, a song about infinite nothingness that is inevitable once you break your barriers.”
Formed in 2015 in Dukla, Poland, Kalt Vindur have steadily risen through the extreme underground by carving out their own niche: Subcarpathian black metal. Following the underground success of 2024’s Magna Mater, the band have made prominent international festival appearances.
Lead single ‘The Void of Time‘ arrived over the summer and acts as the narrative anchor for the record, though it stands apart as an anomaly next to the rest of the album’s tracks. Breaking away from the regional wartime history and suffering that shaped earlier releases (Delusions, …And Nothing Is Endless), its lyrics find inspiration in the mind-bending realms of quantum physics and the existential concept of time.
There’s also a bilingual vocal performance from frontman Celsus: the song’s first movement is delivered entirely in English before pivoting into the band’s native Polish for the second half, amplifying the track’s jarring, multi-dimensional atmosphere.
“‘The Void of Time’ is a threshold for us,” said Svart. “It retains the icy, aggressive Subcarpathian backbone our fans expect, but intellectually and structurally, it reaches into completely new territory. It is the perfect first glimpse into what this album represents.”
