Saxon – ‘Kingdom of the Cross’ – An ode to the Great War (Remembrance Sunday)

Kingdom of the Cross is an ode to honour the Great War of 1914-1918

British legends Saxon announce the brand new track ‘Kingdom of the Cross’ from the mesmerizing album Battering Ram.

Saxon have a tradition of success with close to 15 million album sales over a near 40 year career, with Battering Ram being the 21st album released to date. Combining this with consistent sold out arena shows Worldwide, Saxon have graced stages with the likes of Ozzy, Judas Priest, Metallica and Motorhead to name a few, while having album artwork created by the masterminds behind Britain’s premier metal festival Bloodstock. It is no wonder they have continued to thrive and go from strength to strength.

Biff Byford, vocalist of Saxon had this to say about the new track: “It’s a bit of an Epitaph for the 1st World War… If you’ve ever been to France or Belgium and looked at the graveyards, like a sea of crosses, to me it’s a ‘Kingdom of The Fallen Soldiers’ so ‘Kingdom of The Cross’ is the title I came up with”.

Not being a band to do things in halves, Saxon are set to take to the road and tour the USA through the summer, but not before traveling the homeland first with the mighty Motorhead through January.

Tour Dates:

Sat 23rd Jan – NEWCASTLE City Hall
Sun 24th Jan – GLASGOW Clyde Auditorium
Tue 26th Jan – MANCHESTER O2 Apollo
Wed 27th Jan – SWINDON Oasis
Fri 29th Jan – LONDON Hammersmith Eventim Apollo
