The Anix has dropped his latest single, ‘Sinking Alone’, ahead of upcoming album Voltage, due in late 2024 from FiXT.
“‘Sinking Alone’ is a nod to some of the early 90’s bands like HUM, Weezer, Failure and STP,” said The Anix.” You have these super intimate and quiet parts where it feels like it’s just the vocalist in a room with a guitar, then it goes into full-send with this explosion when the full band clocks in for work.
“I used vintage fuzz pedals and several overdubs of bass guitars and Fender Bass VI to get this juggernaut massive tone. Phil Collins is one of my favourite drummers, so I took inspiration from Genesis for some of the drum parts, but this is intended to be a modern song when it comes to the lyrical theme. I find it odd that in a time where we are more connected than ever before in human history, the majority of us feel more alone than ever.”
The single showcases al blend of grunge, alternative rock, and the modern. It can be purchased/streamed here and you can check out the video here at RAMzine.
