Melbourne rockers The Ugly Kings are a powerhouse blues rock band from Melbourne, Australia who have just released a video for ‘Promised Land‘ taken from their forthcoming debut album Darkness Is My Home due for release on 13th April from the Kozmik Artifactz label.
Featuring Russel Clark on vocals, Christos Athanasias on guitar, Nicolas Dumont on bass and Andy Alkemade on drums, The Ugly Kings have already released on mini-album and supported the likes of Rival Sons, Papa Roach and Airbourne, whose singer Joel O’Keefe said of the band; “The Ugly Kings have really got their own thing going on and it rocks! I love all the dynamics, pushing and pulling and then always smashing it out. Great intensity and power.”
“‘Promised Land’ is about the false promises that are preached to us by the charlatans of our society (politicians, big business, etc…). It’s about the pipe dream they sell us to keep us in servitude to the 1%, to keep us slaves to the dollar and material things,” the band said. “There is nothing at the top of the ladder, except another ladder. The Promised Land isn’t the destination we get sold, it’s inside of us.” You can watch the video at Ramzine here:
