Hard Times for VA Rocks?

VA Rocks release new single, ‘Hard Times’, on Metalville Records.

While the title might give the impression of it being a downer, something bluesy and sad, the song itself is the opposite. ‘Hard Times’ is a melodic upbeat tune with both Ida Vollmer (lead singer/rhythm guitarist) and Cim Dahlle (lead guitarist) on lead vocals. With a catchy refrain and sing-along friendly backing vocals, it’s likely to get you in that freefalling road

Available from all major streaming providers you can check out the video here at RAMzine.

Formed back in 2006 as a garage rock band in a small town in Sweden, VA Rocks were heavily influenced by bands like AC/DC, The Ramones and The Runaways. As they started to create their own rock sound at a steady place they began developing a firm footing on the Swedish rock scene.

Having now played hundreds of live shows and toured with acts like bands like Kärbholtz, D-A-D, Thundermother and The Headlines, they’ve also played Sweden Rock Festival and done shows in several countries in Europe, Scandinavia and even Wales.

The first studio album, I Love VA Rocks was released 2019 on Metalville and the band is now working on their next album, to be released in September 2024, for the same record label.

A few months back, ‘Not Dead Yet’ was the first single from the upcoming new album. It’s the first song recorded as a four piece band, and it follows the classic VA Rocks sound. The track is a no compromise cocky track about picking up the pieces and finding yourself again after a big change or challenge in life.

Written by guitarist Cim Dahlle and recorded with Timmy Tift (Vånna Inget, Sista Sekunden) at Tift Studios in September last year, ‘Not Dead Yet’ is available digitally, and you can check out the lyric video – featuring live clips from shows played in 2023 – here at RAMzine.
