Black Spikes share new single ‘REVANA’

Black Spikes are back with second single ‘REVANA’, the latest taste of forthcoming album Ydos, due 28 August 2026 via Napalm Records.

Immediately we get In This Moment vibes from this band. Highly creative, highly artistic, highly unique. If you haven’t checked them out yet, this is a treat to the eyes and the ears.

The Lithuanian quintet have just wrapped a tour with Infected Rain and arrive with a track that sits firmly in the avant-garde modern progressive metal lane they’ve been carving out. ‘REVANA’ is the band’s personification of revenge, with vocalist Agni weaving between haunting melodies and visceral intensity over a recognisable, riff-driven backbone.

The accompanying cinematic music video is genuinely striking. Drawing on the 17th century witch hunts that reached Lithuania, the visual depicts women accused of witchcraft for being too curious or simply not fitting in, an unsettling parallel for a song about revenge that promises closure but only ever delivers continuation.

Ydos is the band’s first release with Napalm Records and follows their nomination at Lithuania’s Grammy-comparable M.A.M.A. Music Awards. The album is a conceptual piece, with each of its ten tracks personifying one of humanity’s vices, from lies to apathy to pride. Yaga‘s electronic elements thread through the modern metal foundation, with trap beats and rap appearing on opening salvo ‘MELAS’ alongside the more expected progressive twists and growling heaviness.

We’re always drawn to bands willing to commit fully to a concept, and Black Spikes have done that here. Ydos sounds like an album to listen to as a whole rather than dip in and out of, with the band promising further music videos to bring each vice to life.

The band line-up is Agni (vocals), Yaga (guitar, electronics), Mazvis (guitar), Sime (bass) and Titas (drums).

Ydos is available to pre-order now on splatter white/black vinyl (Napalm mailorder exclusive), solid gold vinyl, digisleeve CD and digital.
