Despite all the bad news recently in the world of music, there is a lot to look forward to this year. One being Bloodstoc-Open-Air, which has added three extra bands to the bill.
Metal Allegiance – a band formed from various icons of metal has been added. You never know who will show up but the confirmed line-up includes Testament’s Alex Skolnick, Death Angel’s Mark Osegueda, Anthrax’s Scott Ian & Charlie Benante, Russell Allen from Symphony X, Gary Holt from Slayer & Exodus, Mike Portnoy of Twisted Sister/numerous other projects, plus Metal Allegiance leader, Mark Menghi. Mike Portnoy had this to say:
“I’m so excited for Metal Allegiance to make their UK debut at one of the most metal festivals on Earth! The perfect audience to share this brotherhood of metal with.” Who else might step into their ranks for the day? You’ll have to be at BLOODSTOCK to find out!!”

Also added to the 2016 line-up are rap-metal legends Stuck Mojo. Reformed in 2014, the band are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second album ‘Pigwalk’. The band have also announced they are working on a new album with producer Andy Sneap, who has worked with everyone from Saxon to Megadeth.
Last but not least are New Orleans metallers Goatwhore. The band are officially Friday’s head-liners of the Sophie Lancaster Stage. A new album is also expected later this year.
Already announced for 2016 are our three headliners, TWISTED SISTER (in their last ever UK show), MASTODON and SLAYER, plus special guests BEHEMOTH, GOJIRA and ANTHRAX. Also on the bill are FEAR FACTORY, SYMPHONY X, SATYRICON, PARADISE LOST, DRAGONFORCE, ROTTING CHRIST, VENOM and ACID REIGN. Many more are still to be announced.
