The new studio album Dracul Drakorgoth by Blutgott is out now on Massacre Records, as is a video for ‘Setekh Drakorgaur’ from the album.
The lyrics are about the righteous war of the dragons against mankind in Blutgott’s concept storyline. This is a special video cut of the Blood God and the Debauchery version (More of which later).
The video was put together from impressions of the Blutgott Heimspiel from the current tour in Kirchheim, and you can check it out here at RAMzine.
Over a 20 year period, German singer and guitarist Thomas Gurrath has created his own dark fantasy universe: the World of Blood Gods, featuring biomechanical vampire dragons with demonic abilities that have appeared across over 30 CDs under such band names as Debauchery, Blood God and Balgeroth… From here on, that unholy trinity of blood gods will come under the combined nomenclature of Blutgott.
Recently, the title track was released as a single.
Only last month came the ‘Dragonsteel’ single taken from the album.
It’s a song about the righteous anger of the dragons in Blutgott‘s mythos. The lyrics are about the Red Dragon, the Blood God of Earth, Setekh Drakorgaur, and the Defenders of the Throne of Fire.
It is a special shorter video cut. On the 3CD album the song is longer and there are three different versions, but sample the shorter version now here at RAMzine.
‘Blood For Balgeroth’ was previously released as a single and you can check out the video for it here at RAMzine too.
‘Fire And Steel‘, the Debauchery version, was the single before that. This was a song about the attack of the World Eater Legion on the Imperial Palace in the conflict called Horus in Bluttgott‘s worldbuilding musical empire. Entailing heresy or alternatively the storm of the Balgeroth Legion on the fortresses of the Imperium of Man in the Blutgott Universe, the World of Blood Gods. Or a mixture of both, a crossover.
The idea for the text comes from the Horus Heresy novels, the video primarily shows the Balgeroth Legion, built from the Blutgott miniature and you can check it out here at RAMzine.
The previous single was a Balgeroth version of ‘Drachenlegion’. It followed on from the official video for ‘Dracul Drakorgoth’ in its Debauchery version, and you can check out videos for both here at RAMzine.
The lyrics are about Dracul Drakorgoth, the Debauchery blood god, and his role in the War of Balgeroth. While a brutal war is raging on Earth and many other planets of the Balgeroth Blood Gods against mankind, Dracul Drakorgoth and his Debauchery Legion fight their way from the front line in eastern Europe, across Hellgates to the outermost siege ring around Knochenheim. His legion consists of Blood Gods, Vampires and Blood Babes.
Musically moving across genres and surfacing somewhere between Judas Priest, Slayer, AC/DC, Rammstein and Bolt Thrower. There is pounding death metal, classic heavy metal and groovy hard rock, sometimes with screeching vocals, sometimes with a distinctive monstrous voice, sometimes clean, at others in between.
The lyrics – in German and English – deal with Gurrath’s blood gods – The three most infamous being Bal-Geroth, the Bloodking of Knochenheim, Dracul Drakorgoth, the Debauchery Blood God and Setekh Drakorgaur, the Red Dragon.
In the war zones of the past and future, on Earth, Eden, other planets and Hell, they fight brutal battles against elves, humans and dwarves, as well as other demons. The World of Blood Gods has its own miniatures and its own tabletop game, called Kings of Carnage.
Concerts of the various incarnations of the Blutgott Metal Universe have been held throughout Europe, Russia and Asia. They have performed with Doro, Saxon, Dismember, Napalm Death, Destruction and many other well-known bands from the metal scene and played at major festivals such as Wacken, Summer Breeze and Bang Your Head. The albums are regularly in the top 50 of the official German album charts.
The new album, Dracul Drakorgoth, will feature ten completely new songs available each with a debauchery monster voice, once with German Balgeroth lyrics and also with the blood god heavy metal voice. They will be available as a 3CD digi -pack, as limited edition box and the Debauchery and Balgeroth versions each as limited edition LP. Recorded by Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Krokus, Helloween).
