Formed in 1984, British alternative rock band Claytown Troupe carved a niche through the early ‘90s with atmospheric sounds and powerful live performances. These include supporting The Cult on their Sonic Temple tour, Pearl Jam on their Ten tour, The Fields Of The Nephilim, The Wonder Stuff, The Damned as well as many sold out tours and headlines across Europe, including the Marquee Club and Astoria
The band were signed to Island records in 1988, releasing the album Through The Veil and several top 100 singles, then following the sale of Island to EMI, released Out There on their new label, along with two top 75 singles.
The band achieved a 5K review from Kerrang magazine on their Through The Veil album release alongside various favourable press coverage.
Singer Christian Riou has now formed a new Claytown Troupe, following an offer to support The Mission on a unique Festival slot in Dubai, with further performances by the band now expected in 20025
The Mission perform will their greatest hits via their From The Oyster Comes The Pearl show at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium on Saturday 23rd November. The name of the event being inspired by the iconic track from their 2013 album The Brightest Light, The Mission will be joined by The Chameleons, Claytown Troupe and special guests Ist Ist.
