Defects are exploding into late 2023 with a quadruple announcement. They will be joining US metalcore outfit Of Mice & Men on a 19-date tour through November and December, calling through Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the UK, and they will also be joining Funeral For A Friend as special guests at the 20 Years of Casually Dressed and Deep In Conversation album anniversary show at the O2 Academy, Birmingham on 11 October. They have also signed deals with Mascot Records, United Talent Agency, Raw Power Management and have been working on their debut album.
Tony Maue (Vocals), Luke Genders (Guitar), James Threadwell (Guitar), David Silver (Bass) and Harry Jennings (Drums) burst out of the gates last year when they supported Swedish metal act In Flames on their UK March tour. They then opened for Bullet For My Valentine and steamrolled through the festivals with sets at The Great Escape, Download, 2000 Trees, Bloodstock and Primordial General Mayhem, before wrapped up the year by taking on their first headline tour of the UK and dropping their debut EP Dream Awake – featuring the videos for ‘Dream Awake’, ‘End of Days’ and ‘Scapegoat’.
Regarding the tour with Of Mice & Men on tour, Defects said, “We are hugely thankful to the guys in Of Mice & Men for the continued support and the amazing opportunity to follow them around Europe for the first time and in the UK. Growing up listening to this band and now sharing a stage with them is truly an honour, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we can do.”
Their signing to the heavyweight team of Raw Power Management see them joining the ranks of Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon and Don Broco, at the
United Talent Agency they’re alongside Architects, Baby Metal and Nova Twins, while the Mascot Records labels also includes acts such as VOLA, Dragged Under, Conquer Divide,and Oxymorrons.
