Ozzy’s final show hits cinemas worldwide in October

The final performance of Ozzy Osbourne and the original Black Sabbath lineup is heading to the big screen. Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning, a concert film from Trafalgar Releasing and Mercury Studios, arrives in cinemas worldwide from 28 October for a limited run.

The film captures the sold-out Back To The Beginning show at Birmingham’s Villa Park on 5 July 2025, Osbourne‘s farewell to his fans in his home city, filmed just 17 days before his passing. Alongside a solo set from Ozzy, it documents the original Black Sabbath lineup of Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward playing together for the first time in more than two decades.

Hosted by Jason Momoa with Tom Morello as musical director, the event brought generations of fans together with sets from Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Tool, Guns N’ Roses, Gojira, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Halestorm, Anthrax, Alice in Chains and Rival Sons, plus all-star segments featuring a sprawling cast of guests. It sold out in minutes.

Sharon Osbourne, who oversaw the event, said it came from asking Ozzy what would make him happy. All he wanted, in her words, was “to say goodbye and thank you.”

Tony Iommi called it “a good way to go out.” Geezer Butler described a wave of love, while Bill Ward said he felt completely at home.

Directed for screen by Ben Wainwright-Pearce, with the live concert directed by Tim van Someren, the film has been crafted for the cinema and presented in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound. It follows Mercury Studios releases including One To One: John & Yoko and Metallica Saved My Life.

Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning opens in cinemas worldwide on 28 October for a limited time, with tickets on sale from Thursday 24 September at 3pm BST.
