Swedish rockers Degreed‘s new single and video, ‘Wildchild (Tribute To Alexi Laiho)’, is out now via Frontiers Music Srl. As the title suggests, the song is a touching tribute to Children Of Bodom’s guitarist Alexi Laiho, who passed away in 2020.
Vocalist Robin Eriksson commented on the song: “Alexi Laiho was a true rockstar, up there among Lemmy and those guys. He was also one of our heroes. We’re happy to pay tribute to him, one of Finland’s finest. Rock and metal fans all over the world deserve to hear this piece of music.”

Debuting on record back in 2010 with their Life, Love, Loss album, Degreed has gone from strength to strength with each release since, touring and gaining fans all over the world. Their sound mixing classic melodic and hard rock sounds with more contemporary influences, offering their fans what’s been described as “a very personal, fresh and exciting mix of great rock music”.
The covid pandemic resulted in the band being unable to tour on the heels of their 2019 album Lost Generation in 2019, with a new song – ‘The World We Knew’ – summing up their feelings regarding that in 2020, and it becoming Track of the Week at Classic Rock Magazine’s website a week after its release.
A year later they began work Are You Ready that was released in 2022, with their Public Address album released in July the following year and finding the band delivering on the promise of their earlier releases.
This year, they’ve released a number of singles. Most recently there was ‘Hard To Be Human‘ with Eriksson commenting: “’Hard To Be Human’ is a song that I’d like to call a modern power ballad. The song means a lot to me, and I’ve been waiting a long time for this one to be released. Finally, the wait is over.”
You can stream that single here and check out the video here at RAMzine, as you can previous single, ‘Good Enough’, both available via Frontiers Music Srl, about which the singer said: “’Good Enough’ is one heavy and fast track with a sing along chorus. You won’t be disappointed.” You can verify that for yourselves by checking out the video below, that also features Mats Eriksson (Drums), Mikael Blanc (Keyboards) and Daniel Johansson (Guitars).
