Download Festival has confirmed its return for 2027, with next year’s edition set for Donington Park from Wednesday 9 June to Sunday 13 June. Limited early bird tickets are on sale now via downloadfestival.co.uk.
The announcement follows a sold out 23rd edition that drew 95,000 fans to Donington Park and ranked among the festival’s best. Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses and Linkin Park topped the bill across the weekend, with Limp Bizkit opening Friday in a storm of crowd-surfing, Guns N’ Roses rolling out a vast catalogue of classic hits on Saturday, and Linkin Park closing the weekend 12 years after they last headlined, fronted by Emily Armstrong.
It was the festival’s most diverse showing yet. The bill also delivered standout sets from Halestorm, Architects, A Day to Remember, Cypress Hill, Trivium, Bad Omens, BABYMETAL, Black Veil Brides, Ice Nine Kills, Pendulum and Dogstar, featuring Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves. Secret sets from Skindred and Creeper kept the surprises coming, while Enter Shikari’s Rou Reynolds joined Pendulum and Professor Green appeared alongside Native James.
Donington also paid tribute to Motörhead‘s Lemmy Kilmister, as Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan unveiled an urn of the frontman’s ashes to bring Lemmy back to his fans. Elsewhere, Final Fantasy band The Primals made their first ever live appearance outside Japan, German techno heroes Scooter brought new energy to the Avalanche Stage, and Decessus, fronted by Ignácia Fernandez, went viral for her death metal vocals as Miss World Chile.
We were on site across the weekend, and this was Download doing what it does best. With the 2027 dates locked in and early birds already moving, next June cannot come soon enough.
