Electric Callboy share twisted ballad ‘The Way You Are’

Electric Callboy have never met a genre boundary they didn’t fancy smashing, and their latest single ‘The Way You Are’ might be their most gleefully unhinged trick yet. Taken from the forthcoming album Tanzneid, out on 7th August, it opens as an irresistibly catchy late-’90s boy band love ballad before collapsing into one of the heaviest songs the band have ever written.

Soaring pop melodies smash headlong into crushing deathcore, and the video follows suit, beginning as a nostalgic boy band fantasy before lurching into a blood-soaked nightmare. Romantic, disturbing and unmistakably Electric Callboy.

“‘The Way You Are’ started with a pretty simple idea,” the band explain. “What if the sweetest late-’90s boy band love ballad suddenly turned into one of the heaviest songs we’ve ever written? We loved playing with that contrast, both musically and visually. The result is probably one of the most unexpected songs we’ve ever released, and definitely one of our favourites on Tanzneid.”

Tanzneid lands on 7th August 2026 and pulls together the run of singles that have trailed it, including ‘Hypercharged’, ‘Let The Good Times Roll’, ‘Revery’, ‘Still Waiting’, the title track ‘Tanzneid’, ‘Elevator Operator’ and the inescapable ‘RATATATA’. Spanning euphoric pop hooks, pulverising breakdowns and everything in between, it catches the band at their boldest and most unpredictable.

The celebrations begin with an album release party at Berlin’s Huxley’s Neue Welt, before Electric Callboy air the record live for the first time at Escalation Fest 2026, sharing the bill with Paleface Swiss, The Rasmus, Alestorm, Heavysaurus and The Hardkiss. From there the Tanzneid World Tour heads through Japan, Australia and Europe, touching down in the UK and Ireland in early 2027 with arena shows in Dublin, Manchester, Nottingham, Bournemouth and Cardiff.
