Faster Pussycat Motorbiking

Faster Pussycat shift into high gear and rev things up with their brand new single ‘Motorbike‘ – An adrenaline-fueled track is available on all major streaming platforms.

In true Faster Pussycat fashion, ‘Motorbike’ captures the gritty, fast-lane energy that has made the band icons of the late ‘80s hard rock scene, delivering a roaring joy ride of sleaze, swagger and attitude.

“Sex, rock and roll and motorcycles! The lyrics are tongue in cheek, you can take them how you want to…” raved Faster Pussycat founder and frontman Taime Downe of the single. “I started writing ‘Motorbike’ about a decade ago, then the pandemic happened and… I’m slow…” he trailed off with a laugh. “We actually recorded this a couple times before, I finally felt like we got it right.”

Available digitally, fans will be thrilled to learn that a limited edition 7-inch of ‘Motorbike’ printed on Pussycat Purple vinyl is also available to order now, with the same May 16 release date. For collectors, an even more limited number of 7-inches signed by Taime Downe are available exclusively here.

As was the case with the band’s previous two single releases, the vinyl b-side is a cover that has Downe just as excited as his original – A fuel-injected and grease-splattered take on the INXS classic ‘Don’t Change’.

I’ve been a big fan of INXS for years – I even hung out with Michael Hutchence, Iggy Pop and Debbie Harry after an awards show, which was a night I’ll never forget,” waxed the frontman. “I’ve always wanted to do an INXS cover – they have so many great songs, but this is one of my favorites. We’ve been playing it on and off for years, and it’s obviously in the set when we play Australia. I’m psyched to finally get it recorded and out there with our own spin. It’s INXS meets The Sex Pistols, as only Faster Pussycat can.”

You can order ‘Motorbike/Don’t Change’ on vinyl here.

That previous double A-side single as ‘Like A Ghost‘ and ‘Pirate Love’, still available here.

That release is the first for the band under the Golden Robot umbrella with Taime Downes saying earlier this year “The band and I are over the moon to join the Golden Robot Records rock-n-roll family! We are super excited to release some of our badass new tunes globally – we know the label see our vision and supports the band and we feel completely at home here.”

‘Like a Ghost’ is a track about growing up in the 70s, listening to the radio and doing what kids do and the memories it brings back. It features Downe’s signature vocals carrying the song through to completion. The production on this track is second to none with blistering guitars and the band in full force.

‘Pirate Love’ is a cover by the legendary Johnny Thunders and stays true to the original with both tracks complimenting each other with strong instrumentals, killer vocals and an edge to them.

Originally formed during the mid-’80s glam rock era, Faster Pussycat has sold over 2 million albums worldwide and accompanied some of rock’s most distinguished names on tour, including Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley CrüeGuns N’ Roses and Kiss.

They have recently been on the road with Cinderella’s Tom Keifer and L.A. Guns for the North American Sonic Slam tour plus a series of their own headlining shows across the USA. As far as recorded material goes, they receive over 260k listeners per month on a singular streaming platform – proving that not only are they still a prominent force, able to successfully mould to the digital age, and just announced that the band has signed a new international record deal with Golden Robot Records.

The band’s signing with Golden Robot Records is hardly a surprise to those who know Golden Robot Records President and Founder Mark Alexander-Erber with him having his eye on the band for years before the signing came to fruition earlier this year.

“One of my all-time favourite signings is Faster Pussycat,” said the label founder. “They really fit in well to our Golden Robot Records family – They have been an integral part of the global rock scene for many years, and I’ve had the pleasure of listening to their new music which we will be releasing. I can tell you that they will be part of the worldwide music scene for many years to come based on the strength of their new music. There are exciting times ahead!”

Alongside Downes, the band consist of Sam ‘Bam’ Koltun (Guitar), Danny Nordahl (Bass), Chad Stewart (Drums) and the latest addition to the band, Ronnie Simmons (Guitar).
