Guernica Mancini Spreads her Wings

Best known as the powerhouse lead vocalist for Swedish all-female hard rockers Thundermother, Guernica Mancini is about to spread her wings and showcase her talent even further as a solo artist.

To this end she has signed a worldwide solo deal with Golden Robt Records, one that she is emphatic will not involve with her role within Thundermother, a band that continues to gain critical and fan attention.

“Getting to do something creatively that’s completely my own is something that I’ve been longing to do since I was a very young girl. It’s scary but at the same time so exciting and fun! I feel very fortunate to have gotten this opportunity. More than anything I feel so happy that my bandmates in Thundermother are really supportive and excited for me. So now, let the Guernica solo legacy begin.” Manici espoused.

The singer has previously worked with Golden Robot Records, as a featured vocalist on Swiss hard rock band King Zebra’s single and accompanying video ‘Wall Of Confusion’. You can watch that video here, along with one where she chats with Golden Robot President and Founder Mark Alexander-Erber.

Music has always been a big part of Guernica Mancini’s life, from her childhood days in a church choir to forming her first band at the age of 14.  That too was an all-female one, called Banda Sept, who performed live all over Sweden.

In 2007, she enrolled at the prestigious Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, CA, where she won a songwriting contest.

This led her to recording with famed music producer Darryl Swann, who has worked with acts such as Black-Eyed Peas, John Frusciante and Macy Gray, among others.

During her time at the Musician’s Institute, Mancini formed yet another all-female band, Inglourious; they performed at music venues in LA as well as Las Vegas, including the House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, The Key Club and The Roxy.

In 2010 she became lead singer in Souls On 11, the band formed by former Megadeth guitarist Jeff Young.

After five years in LA, Mancini moved back to Sweden and formed her own band The Royal Ruckus. The following four years the band played throughout Sweden and toured around Europe. Then, in 2017, came the opportunity to audition for Thundermother, where she has firmly established herself as their lead singer.

Mancini sang on the last three Thundermother albums and was part of the songwriting of the two most recent ones. The band has toured all over the world, played massive festivals such as Wacken, Sweden Rock Festival, Alcatraz, Exit Festival, Reload Festival, as well as playing on The Kiss Cruise, Full Metal Cruise and supported the likes of The Dead Daisies, Backyard Babies and Rose Tattoo.

Aside from the aforementioned King Zebra single, Guernica Mancini also appeared on Hank Von Hell’s  single ‘Crown’ from his 2020 album Dead, and who knows there may other guest appearances in the future between her solo and Thundermother commitments.
