Hawkwind’s Stories From Time And Space Due

Legendary cosmic space rock band Hawkwind has announced a brand-new studio album, Stories From Time And Space, that will be out on 5th April via Cherry Red Records on both CD and double vinyl, and so coincide with live shows by the band  leading through to the summer.

The album was mastered at Abbey Road Studios and follows their critically acclaimed 2023 album The Future Never Waits. Their 36th studio album, it is said stand “as an outstanding progression to the space-age, trademark Hawkwind sound and a superb addition to their varied and celebrated catalogue.”

Fans are told to expect futuristic, synth laden opener of ‘Our Lives Can’t Last Forever’, the innovative psychedelic swirl of ‘The Starship (One Love One Life)’ and Traveller Of Time & Space’, andlamenting saxophones and menacing riffs on ‘What Are We Going To Do While We’re Here’ and ‘Stargazers’. The album apparently has everything Hawkwind fans new and old could ask for.

It’s been described as a “record that sits tightly in the Hawkwind groove, delivering an intense concentrated fusion of musical styles” from Dave Brock’s trademark vocals and chugging guitar riffs to roaming solos, gradual melancholic crescendos and rapturous peaks, with Richard Chadwick, Magnus Martin, Doug MacKinnon and Tim ‘Thighpaulsandra’ Lewis all on board too.

The full tracks listing is: ‘Our Lives Can’t Last Forever’, ‘ The Starship (One Love One Life)’, ‘What Are We Going To Do While We’re Here’, ‘The Tracker’, ‘Eternal Light’, ‘Till I Found You’, ‘Underwater City’, ‘The Night Sky’, ‘Traveller Of Time & Space’, ‘Re-generate’, ‘The Black Sea’, ‘Frozen In Time’ and ‘Stargazers’.
