Heavy Pettin Go Killing Demons

Following the release of their latest album Rock Generation on the Silver Lining Music label, Scottish rockers Heavy Pettin have issued what’s been described as a “haunting new video” for ‘Faith Healer (Kill My Demons)’ from the long player.

Guitarist Dave ‘Davo’ Aitken commented, “‘Faith Healer (Kill My Demons)’ has emerged as a band and fan favourite that really captures the essence of the Rock Generation album.”

Vocalist and founding member Stephen ‘Hamie’ Hayman reflected, “Playing it live is absolutely electrifying. The energy is insane. On stage, it just destroys souls!”

Back in the ’80s, Heavy Pettin strode stages worldwide whilst their debut album, 1983’s Lettin Loose, threatened to break the rock world apart. They were seen as the natural ascendants to rock’s highest echelons, touring internationally alongside the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Mötley Crüe as wild Glaswegian whippersnappers. Then life happened and Heavy Pettin went on a triple decade hiatus.

Rock Generation became Heavy Pettin’s first new studio album since 1989. The band features Hayman, Aitken and Richie ‘St. James’ Dews on guitars and backing vocals, plus David ‘Boycee’ Boyce on bass and Mick ‘The Wizard’ Ivory on drums. The new album has been described as being chock full of classic song-strong rock ‘n’ roll that fits in the slipstream between Def Leppard, Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy.

Made in Glasgow at Morsecode Studios and produced with a timeless sheen by Ciarán O’Shea, the ten cuts are said to bristle with “full-frontal attitude and powerful melodies”. The title track is a hip swinging anthemic swagger. ‘Oblivion’ features guest vocals from Roni Lee and has a Celtic groove plus a singalong chorus, while ‘X-Rated’ apparently fuses the attitude of Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street with the punch and panache of the Sunset Strip.

To mark the release of their brand new album, Heavy Pettin embarked on a 14 date tour with rock legends Uriah Heep and April Wine, hitting venues in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland.

Rock Generation features the tracks: ‘Rock Generation’, ‘Faith Healer (Kill My Demons)’, ‘Brother Sister’, ‘Oblivion’, ‘Mother Earth’, ‘X-Rated’, ‘Bullets And Pills’, ‘Line In The Sand’, ‘Live UR Best Life’ and ‘This Life’. It is available on vinyl, CD, and via digital formats.
