Joanne Shaw Taylor 2024 UK Tour Updates

British Blues rock guitar prodigy Joanne Shaw Taylor will be back in the UK February next year for a ten date tour, with the announcement that special guest on her UK tour will be rising star Connor Selby.

Meanwhile, out now, is Taylor’s latest single, ‘Wild Love’, taken from her forthcoming album, due next year. It’s a departure into a darker, more intimate territory, intent on capturing the essence of a moody blues night while retaining vigour in her playing.

“I love this track,” said Taylor. “I wanted it to be dark and sexy. I think, with the boys’ help, we came up with something really cool that the band in the studio really made come to life.

“It’s also rather different to anything I’ve done before so I’m really looking forward to playing it live,” she continued, reflecting on the collaborative creative process with her guitar tech Elliot and guitar player Joey.”

Joanne Shaw Taylor’s current album, Nobody’s Fool saw a major evolution in her actual song writing and ‘Wild Love’ continues that process. Chinking away, infectiously it may initially sound quite a simple number, but there’s a level of maturity making it resonate so, while the background sounds filtering through add sensual sophistication.

Taylor’s UK tour kicks off on Saturday 17 February 2024 at Manchester Royal Northern College of Music, takes in London’s O2 Indigo on Thursday 22nd February, and finishes on Thursday 29 February at the Palace Theatre in Southend-on-Sea.

She will perform songs from her recent critically acclaimed albums Nobody’s Fool, and The Blues Album that topped Billboard Magazine’s Official Blues Album Chart.  She will also perform new songs from her forthcoming album including the songs ‘Sweet ‘Lil Lies’ and ‘Black Magic’ we are told, and hopefully ‘Wild Love too.

Guest on the tour, Connor Selby, was voted Young Artist of the Year three consecutive times from 2020 through to 2022 at the UK Blues Awards. In 2019, he opened for The Who, in 2022,he played Hyde Park alongside Pearl JamThe Stereophonics and Johnny Marr, and more recently has toured the UK as guest to Beth Hart and Terry Reid. Signed to Provogue Records, his self- titled major album release with them has received critical acclaim.

The Blues Album was voted #1 Most Played Blues Album of 2021 by the Independent Blues Broadcaster’s Association. Joanne will also dig deep into her rich back catalogue where she will hand-pick songs from her albums Reckless HeartWildThe Dirty TruthAlmost Always NeverDiamonds in the Dirt, and White Sugar

Her previous single, crafted alongside producer Kevin Shirley, at the legendary RCA Studio A in Nashville, ‘Black Magic’ is the fruit of a collaboration with artists such as Rob McNelly, Doug Lancio, Alison Prestwood, Jimmy Wallace, and Anton Fig.

Discovered by Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics when she was a mere 16 years old and subsequently invited to tour the world, her rise to stardom, propelled by endorsements from music giants like Stevie Wonder and Annie Lennox, remains unmatched, her signing with Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Record ensures her music reaches her global fanbase, uncompromised and pure.
