‘Survival Of The Sickest‘ is the latest single from Swedish heavy metal band Mister Misery, and their third studio album is due 2nd August via AFM Records.
Singer & guitarist Harley Vendetta commented: “’Survival Of The Sickest’ is a song written in the hospital room when I was sick, my life was in danger with very low chances of full recovery. It’s the story of exactly what I went through in that room and how it shaped me to look at life in a different way. The track is also used as a support pillar in difficult times. It’s truly made from the heart and we hope it reaches those out there who need it.”
‘Survival of the Sickest‘ is out now on all digital streaming services via this link and you can check out the video here at RAMzine.
You can also order the new Mister Misery album here – The self-titled new album will be out in time for their performance at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany and the band has also announced a headlining tour for October.
The band commented: “Dear ghosts, the time has finally come! We are immensely proud to announce our third and new self-titled album, set to be released the 2nd of August 2024, just in time for Wacken Open Air. We can’t thank you enough for all the love and support you’ve shown us up until this point and we can’t wait to create so many new memories together with this new album! We love you all! Harley, Alex, Rizzy & Alister”
The album will feature the tracks: ‘Root Of All Evil’, ‘Erzsébet (The Countess)’, ‘Eye Of The Storm’, ‘Hand Of Death’, ‘The Doomsday Clock’, ‘Crooked Man’, ‘Survival Of the Sickest’, ‘Until The End’, ‘Haters’, ‘Sinner Or Saint, ‘Ripper’ and ‘Dark Legacy’. It will feature cover art designed by Stefan ‘GraveArt’ Röhm.
‘Hand Of Death‘ was the band’s previous single, and they commented that: “’Hand Of Death’ talks about how hard it can be to just get through the day sometimes,” the band commented. “It’s a reflection of what many of us feel quite often in life and how bad your thoughts can get when you suffer inside without talking about it to anyone.”
You can check out the single here at RAMzine and it’s available on all digital services here.
It followed previous single ‘Boogeyman Boogie‘, about which the band said: “We always enjoy making songs that are purely drawn from our love for Halloween and horror movies,” adding, “And ‘Boogeyman Boogie’ is just that adrenaline fuelled anthem we wanted to include on the album!”
‘Boogeyman Boogie’ is still available on all digital services here and you can check out the video here at RAMzine, as you can previous release ‘Roots Of All Evil’, that came out Halloween time.
“’Root Of All Evil’ felt like the perfect first song to roll out for this next chapter,“ said guitarist and vocalist Harley Vendetta at the time. “It’s fast, it’s heavy and it has those melodic hooks that will make you want to play it again, and again, and again!”
Lead guitarist, Alex Nine, commented: ‘“Root Of All Evil’, a song that combines pure raw energy combined with the heavy topic of depression. The lyrics telling about the monster inside who tries to pull you under! With anthemic choruses, fast paced riffs and the feeling of going f-ing nuts, we give you the first single for the start of Chapter III.“
While drummer Rizzy added: “This song summons the heaviest & most euphoric feelings within you that wants to get out. With its strong riffs and energetic drums, it makes you want to bang your head like a mad man.”
Mister Misery blend clean and gritty vocals along with high-voltage riffs and anthemic choruses, they have developed their own sound and style, capturing the essence of assorted sub-genres from modern heavy music.
Formed back in 2018. Their previous albums were Unalive and A Brighter Side Of Death.
Jochen Richert, co-founder of Soulfood Music and CEO at AFM Records, recently announced he will leave the Hamburg-based companies by the end of this year, but commented: “The last signing, before I leave my life’s work Soulfood, is Mister Misery. I couldn’t have found a better act for my farewell. As the saying goes: The best comes last! Mister Misery is unique, something truly special and will bring AFM a lot of joy. On the other hand, I know the act will be in best hands.”
“We couldn’t be more thrilled and excited to announce that we’re joining forces with AFM Records, and are set to embark into the third chapter of our career with them! We could already feel their passion and dedication for us from the start and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this new, thriving partnership!” said the band.
