Leeds alt rock and metalcore four-piece Foxhaunt are back with new single ‘Absolution’, and a new face behind the kit.
The riff-laden track could have been born at the height of nu metal, yet it still sounds fresh, continuing the heavier direction the band started exploring last year.
“‘Absolution’ is about the weight of living in a world shaped by people in power who seem completely detached from the consequences of their decisions,” the band explain. “However untouchable these people might seem in this life, there’s something strangely comforting in the thought that one day they may have to answer for the damage they’ve caused. In the end, no amount of power can guarantee forgiveness, and there may be no absolution waiting for them.”
New drummer Tom Beverley, formerly of Broken; Narrative, completes the line-up alongside Ollie Swift, Thom Clayton and Sam Whittle. The band say Tom has “brought new energy and a new purpose to Foxhaunt”.
Fans of Linkin Park, Bad Omens and Architects can catch them at Novocaine Festival in Sheffield on 28 November.
