Japanese rock favourites Man With A Mission have released ‘Firestarter’, the opening theme for new TV anime The Vermilion Mask.
The series is based on the manga by Dr.Poro and Nabana Naba. It follows Peru, a young man who killed his companions and mentor while under the control of the “Mask of the War God”, and who now sets out to destroy the mysterious masks scattered across the world. The powerful, energetic ‘Firestarter’ feels like a rallying cry for characters facing harsh destinies.
The track was mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, whose credits include Green Day and My Chemical Romance.
‘Firestarter’ is out digitally now, with a CD single following on 28 October. True to Man With A Mission tradition, it includes a remix: hit ‘Kizuna no Kiseki’ has been reimagined by acclaimed composer Hiroyuki Sawano. The limited edition comes with a DVD of the band’s signature “Mission Movie”, and the limited period edition features new cover artwork by Nabana Naba.
