Nat Dempsey & The Near Strangers Run & Hide

Hailing from all corners of the UK, a multitude of talent off differing cultural backgrounds hit the Manchester underground scene in 2022, Nat Dempsey & The Near Strangers has gained a reputation for raising the roof on some of the town’s most iconic venues.

Then later in the year, they regrouped, rebranded, intent on creating a more robust energetic sound collectively, for fans of Maximo Park, Arctic Monkeys, Pixies and Sonic Youth.

To that end, comes their new release ‘Run & Hide’, blending elements of indie-rock to post-punk, grunge and quite a few quarters in between.

Featuring a soft thoughtful indie beat, it’s a track intended to be experienced, expressing the restless angst felt by leaving the backwaters of a small town to find yourself surrounded by big city lights, feeling as if you’re being swallowed up by the rat race of monotonous daily life, trying to keep your head above water and your creative, inquiring mind alive.

It’s a track that many will relate to whether living it now or in the past, being frightened of what the future holds and of seeing the youthful youthful/hedonistic life you once knew slipping slowly away.

The band has been featured on Steve Lamacq’s Recommends show on BBC Radio 6 Music, Indie Rocks UK, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing in Cumbria.

Nat Dempsey & The Near Strangers is signed with Music First Records and their second single ‘Playground’ is just round the corner, being due on 17th February.
