Being Holy & Lucky with The Now

The Now is a four-piece band from South Wales who, although only started playing together in 2018, have already started making an impact on the local scene with their big, guitar-heavy tracks.

Recently signed to Golden Robot Records, the band released their first single with the label back in November, in ‘Pleased’, that’s still available digitally.

They now prepare to follow that up with new single, ‘Holy’, with a B-side cover of The Verve‘s ‘Lucky Man’ that is out now.

‘Holy’ forms part of the premise of their forthcoming EP slated for release in May, revolving around a mysterious individual communicating via ransom notes.

You can pre-add/save ‘Holy’/’Lucky Man‘ here and check out the video to ‘Holy’ right here at RAMzine.

Featuring Shane Callaghan on rhythm guitar & lead vocals, Will Scott on drums & vocals, Callum Bromage on guitar & vocals and Jay Evans on bass guitar, the average age of The Now is 21 and they’ve been described as “cool, current and highly charged!”

The Now’s inspiration comes from an eclectic mix of music and musicians, including Chuck Berry and The Police, right through to Kasabian and Catfish and The Bottlemen. The band’s vocal influences include Kelly Jones and Ryan ‘’Van’ McCann.

The band has been playing together since 2016 after meeting at a local jam night. After taking time to find the right sound, they decided to form The Now.

Determined to stand alone with a unique sound, and writing their own songs, the band’s mission is to make sure they’re heard by as many people as possible.  The Now has already worked with legendary producers like Grammy award winning producer Jason Perry (Mcfly, Busted, Don Broco, The Blackout), Adam Noble (Coldplay, Biffy Clyro, Liam Gallagher) and Richard Jackson (The Automatic, Super Furry Animals and Duffy).

An early single, ‘Dr Jones’, started their rise to success, being featuring on BBC Radio 2 – The Rock Show Johnnie Walker, and played on Planet Rock with Wyatt, and BBC Wales.
