Ozric Tentacles‘ new album Harmonic Mind will touch down on 18th September courtesy of Kscope, and ahead of that, out now, is the album’s first single, ‘Space Platform’.
“‘Space Platform’ is a bit like a launch pad to the new Ozric world,” said Ed Wynne, the band’s founding member, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, going on to add: “Twisting and turning through the lines and spaces of the Harmonical mind landscape. Hang onto the turf lest you float away.”
Harmonic Mind will be the band’s 17th studio album, and takes its name from the geometric structure and harmonic nature of existence. The album weaves together soaring guitar melodies, intricate rhythms, lush synth textures and deep, hypnotic grooves into a free-flowing psychedelic odyssey that has become Ozric Tentacles‘ trademark.
It was recorded at the band’s home studios, gradually taking shape across Scotland, Devon and finally Glastonbury. This time round, it features their full touring line-up: drummer Pat Garvey, bassist Corey Wallace, percussionist Paul Hankin and multi-instrumentalist Saskia Maxwell, and this is said to reflect the chemistry of the band’s live performances, with each player bringing their own voice to the music.
The single ‘Space Platform’ is out now, with a video to accompany it and a trailer for the album.
Produced by Wynne and keyboard player Silas Neptune, with mastering handled by Silas for the first time, the album has been described as feeling “both fresh and reassuringly familiar”. Even the return of the beloved Erp on the cover art offers a knowing nod to longtime listeners. There’s no radical change of direction here, just Ozric Tentacles doing what they do best.

From their roots on the UK’s free festival circuit to becoming one of the defining names in experimental rock, they have spent more than four decades charting an offbeat course through prog, space rock, electronica and beyond.
Harmonic Mind features the tracks: ‘Guardstones’, ‘Space Platform’, ‘Harmonic Mind’, ‘Malachite’, ‘Tillamook’ and ‘Sumipad’.
It will be released on classic black vinyl, transparent blue vinyl, as a CD and digitally from here. A limitee transparent purple vinly edition will also be available via Kscope and Ozric Tentacles direct.
Since emerging from the UK’s festival scene in the early ’80s, Ozric Tentacles have remained one of psychedelic music’s true originals. More than four decades on, they’re still pushing forward, still exploring new sonic possibilities, and still making music with the same spirit of curiosity and freedom that first set them apart. 2026 sees Ozric Tentacles continue their extensive touring schedule with a large run of Autumn/Winter shows and a number of co-headline shows alongside The Orb.
