Pure Reason Revolution Digital Deluxe Release

Progressive alternative rockers Pure Reason Revolution has announced the release of a digital deluxe version of their latest studio album Coming Up To Consciousness. Featuring instrumentals of the entire album, two stripped down versions, as well as a remix of the track ‘Betrayal’ by KC Blitz (Bring Me The Horizon).

You can listen to the ‘Betrayal’ remix here and check out the video below.

The launch of the new edition of the album comes ahead of the band’s debut appearance on Cruise To The Edge, alongside the likes of Haken, Caligula’s Horse and Riverside.

Jon Courtney commented: “I’m thrilled to announce this deluxe edition. Hope you enjoy listening to the music only mixes, gaining insight to the detail of the music. The banging remix was complete by Jamie Kossoff under KC Blitz, he’s an electro wizard! See you at the upcoming shows, can’t wait!”

The band has confirmed some further UK & European shows for 2025 that listed below.

Coming Up To Consciousness is the third of the band’s post-hiatus renaissance records that began with 2020’s Eupnea and continued with 2022’s Above Cirrus. Like those two predecessors, the new record is intensely personal. Its eight tracks are all between four and seven minutes long – concise by PRR standards – and they grapple with darkness of various kinds.

The band was thrilled to work with multiple members of prog icon The Pineapple Thief; the record was mixed by Bruce Soord, mastered by Steve Kitch, and sees Jon Sykes playing bass on one track. Coming Up To Consciousness is also the third PRR album to feature cover art by Jill Tegan Doherty, who Courtney originally met in Berlin on a German language course.

The album is available as a limited CD+DVD Digipak (featuring 5.1 Surround sound & high resolution stereo mixes), standard CD jewel case, as well as a gatefold revinyl LP (Recycled vinyl), and digitally in both stereo and Dolby atmos. It is available here.
